Dick Ebersol Resigns as Chairman of NBC Sports
Charles Duncan Ebersol ,  born December 30,  is an American television and film producer and director. On November 28, , during Charlie Ebersol's senior year at the University of Notre Dame , a private chartered jet carrying Dick Ebersol and his two sons Charlie and Teddy crashed during takeoff. The injuries the Ebersols sustained in the plane crash were extensive; Dick Ebersol fractured six vertebrae, sternum , three ribs, pelvis , and coccyx , and Charlie Ebersol burned his arm and suffered a less severe back injury. In , Ebersol formed and sold Saint James Films and also co-created and executive produced NBC 's The Wante a primetime show in which Ebersol and producing partner Adam Ciralsky led a team of former Navy Seals , a former UN Ambassador and a former Lieutenant Green Beret around the world in search of the most wanted terrorists and war criminals. Ebersol was inspired to create the show after receiving his own second chance at life after surviving a plane crash in In , The Company announced a production and finance partnership with Israeli production house Dori Media.
A student-athlete award in Enberg's name is presented annually to a Central Michigan student.
Enberg was raised in Armada, Michigan and was responsible for the naming of the Armada High School yearbook, the Regit Tiger spelled backwardsa name it has to this day. A hallway in the Macomb Academy of Arts and Scienceswhich is run by Armada school district and shares the building with its administration office, was named after him.
Indiana University awarded Enberg an honorary doctorate of humane letters in Enberg also received honorary doctorates of humane letters from his alma mater Central Michigan University in and Marquette University inand gave the addresses at both universities' May commencement ceremonies.
